Getting Ready to Say Goodbye

I have pulled out of my momentary stress funk a bit.  I paused a bit from my packing today to go get a pedicure with my mom.  She is such a fun friend to spend time with.  I will miss both my parents a lot.  Thankfully they are flying to Kuwait for a month (or two) in December.

Last Thursday we celebrated Kent's SIXTH birthday.  He is such a fun kid.  He started the day with some sugary cereal from Grandma, then spent birthday money at Toys R Us after lunch at Dairy Queen.  In the evening we ate at Noodles and Company and the ate some yummy cake before opening presents.

On Saturday we took Kent down to Jamestown, Virginia.  It is where the colonists from England landed in 1607- thus beginning the colonization of the New World in the area known as Virginia.

We headed to the historic settlement first to look at the excavation sites and some rebuilt buildings.

Then we headed to the more interactive Jamestown Museum which involves walking through a recreated Powhatan Indian village and the Jamestown fort and harbor.

Tomorrow evening we will be getting on a red eye flight to Kuwait.  12 hours......  I think we will be using miles to upgrade our tickets to Business Class.  It will be worth it!!!
