Eid al-Adha

I am learning a lot about Muslim culture, traditions, and holidays.  This weekend is the holiday of Eid al-Adha.  I really knew nothing about it.  My maid described it as a time when a person pays off all their debts, makes conflicts right with others, and (if able) makes the hajj to Mecca in Saudia Arabia.  If his/her life is clean from sin then they can be granted forgiveness for all wrong things committed in their life while at Mecca.  She said it is like being born a baby again.  Those who can't do a hajj must stay at home, fast, and pray for those going in their place.  This way the forgiveness is extended to them as well.

I am so thankful to follow Christ, from whom forgiveness is granted more than once a year.  Having a personal relationship with God is so wonderful.  Knowing that I have access to HIM at any moment is such a life-changing knowledge.  The knowledge that acts and works don't grant me anything, but that God's grave has saved me is a true miracle and blessing.  My heart is prayerful as Eid al-Adha commences this week.  I will be praying for the Muslims around the world.  If you are a Christ follower please join me in prayer as well.
